We Love Music!

It's been a long-standing fact validated by scientists and medical professionals for years. It's been tested and tried in various ways, but one thing is clear: music is beneficial for your well-being. That's great news! You've probably heard this before, but it bears repeating. You don't have to be a violin virtuoso or piano prodigy in order to experience the many benefits that music has to offer. Put in those earbuds and pump your favorite hype song before your super important meeting. Enjoy some soothing classical music at night when you gear down to relax after a long workday. Music can make us laugh, make us cry, elicit emotions of excitement, contentment, confidence, and fun. And music can be a comforting friend when you feel lonely or depressed. One note of a particular tune can bring back a strong memory of a certain moment in time. Think about your favorite movie... the funny scenes are funnier because of the music. Those action-packed sequences often have exhilarating musical themes. And that romantic moment is probably accompanied by some soft, beautiful strings.

No matter what style you enjoy, be sure to immerse yourself in the music you love on a regular basis. Branch out! Try new things and new sounds. But choose wisely; just as you would select a certain color for a room in a house, sometimes you need to be deliberate about your selections. It's been suggested that people eat and talk more in rooms that are red. Similarly, your workout music may be more motivating if it's at a higher level of excitement. Or you may feel agitated if you have a steady diet of aggressive styles. Discover what works for you in the flow of your day.

People often take for granted the value of music. It's often the first program to be cut from an academic program or from a live event, yet it's one of the most longed-for element when people need a bit of encouragement, motivation, and even hope. It's also the most talked about element on television or any form of our culture.

It's not just a song; it's an experience. Whether it's background music to provide a tone in a room, or the featured piece playing in an orchestral concert hall, it boosts your mood and gives an anchor to a unique moment in time. Bottom line: it expands your mind in so many ways. Music is your friend!
